A lower berth is one of the two standard beds in a cabin, the unit Juneau's cap uses. Passengers run above it because some cabins carry a third or fourth guest. Ketchikan is counted with the Ward Cove docks north of town, which Norwegian Cruise Line uses; the database holds them as separate ports.

Scheduled lower berths by month, 2027.

These are monthly totals. Port Day places each mid-cruise call on a date by sailing distance, which is right for months and wrong too often for single days, so day counts are not published here.

Which Alaska ports get the largest cruise ships?

Skagway receives the largest ships on average: each call there brings 2,557 lower berths, against 2,094 in Juneau and 1,851 in Sitka. Juneau leads on call count with 783, partly because small expedition ships stop there between the large-ship calls that dominate the berth totals.

Average berths per call counts only calls by ships with a known capacity. Calls without a figure, 0 across the four ports, still count as calls. The berth totals are therefore floors.

How reliable are these Alaska port forecasts?

Cruise Line Agencies of Alaska publishes the official schedule for every Alaska port. Port Day's 2027 call counts sit within a few percent of CLAA at Ketchikan, Skagway and Sitka, and run 12.0% above it at Juneau, where small expedition ships that CLAA does not schedule add calls but little capacity.
